Ocean Storm
The water lapped at my feet
My toes wiggling in the soft sand beneath
The salty ocean smell, lingered about
As the thunder gave a menacing shout
The gray waters receded once more
Taking in more sand than the wave before
The dark clouds above, advanced upon the sky
In an inevitable chase, as the thunder howled a cry
The first rain drops, fell from the heavens
Plopping down by the dozens and dozens
I held out my hand to the blessing from above
As the thunder erupted a scream; A scream defying love
I turned and ran, ran as fast as the winds
On my face, snug in place, lay the slightest of a grin
The sand was hard, hard and cold
Just then, the thunder, bellowed one final roar
