A 90's Fantasy
It’s an early rainy morning
Kids begin to awaken to the sound of light crystal quartz hitting the window
Morning cartoons, a kids prescription to wake up early
Kids gather on the couch ready for their engagement all morning long
“Ble, ble, ble, that’s all folks!” is said every half hour
A warm sienna fills the TV screen revealing Simba and Nala
A sudden change is made and Tom and Jerry appear
Tom and Jerry are like siblings constantly fighting with one another
The morning becomes a jet,
Speeding rapidly to the afternoon
Now it is time to go outside and smell a delicate misted rose
For the kids it seems a century has passed since the morning began
The TV is no longer the kids hypnotist
Where have these moments gone,
When kids stuck like vanilla cream
Not worrying about technology other than watching TV
Popeye, Scooby Doo, Cow and Johnny Bravo still wait
Hoping one day to see those innocent faces once again
