My dad never pushed me on a swing
Snap and he was gone from my life
It was such a quick thing
He will never get to meet my wife
Nor will he ever meet my kid
Because just like that he lost his life
He never saw me “flip my lid”
I mean, how could he
He won’t ever see my kid’s kid
He never got to be there for me
He will never get to see me cross that stage
He never saw me climb my first tree
His life never got past that page
All because of some guy and his rampage
