Fragile
Dear Heart,
You once were whole, still new to this world, still not yet in need of repair…
Now I sit here grieving over your fragile form, so small and innocent yet shattered to bits.
Please forgive me for I was young and naive.
My dearest heart, I should have locked you up tighter, I should have concealed you from the horrific pain that is so much a part of this world as you and I are.
I was young and naive. I opened up to many who were not worthy. I gave up so much, now look at me. I lay here mending my broken soul with band-aids and glue yet it does not heal.
Once you let the world in there's no turning back. But I can hope, hope that there is chance for me to try again...
