    Pondering here,
   About the life I’ve lived,
Filled with love, yet filled with tears,
And so much taken, yet so much to give.

A gloomy twilight casts over my mind,
And I’ve thought these thoughts a thousand times,
   Where am I to go?
   And who do I seek?
   Which people will show,
   the memories I keep?

For people come, and people leave,
So I am left, in this standing sleep.

This gloomy twilight is approaching near,
Pulling me closer to all my fears.
An endless twist of words and thoughts,
With one idea, that keeps me caught…

Will I keep these feelings, each day and night?
   Closed off and trapped,
   By this Gloomy Twilight.

The author's comments:

This poem was inspired by my conflicting internal thoughts regarding the meaning of life and the value in each day. Gloomy Twilight is representative of these fears and depression, and how I don't want it to take control of my life essentially.
