Mosquito
I walked out to my backyard.
It came to me,
sat on my arm, like we were old friends.
It was motionless
dead in its tracks.
Multi-colored when the sun hits it.
It caught my attention, colors,
they were as if a rainbow, had met a diamond.
I was so fascinated,
I was amazed at this creature,
so different from the rest,
but so unique by its self.
Before I could say goodbye
it was gone, but it left a present
A bump on my arm and
a little less blood in my body.
