As raindrops fall from a cold winter sky
Dark shadows race across the shining moon,
As if in pursuit of some far off spring.

Long since birdsong was heard in this forest,
It seems that's silence envelopes the world,
As raindrops fall from from a cold winter sky.

The crisp air whispers of a midnight frost,
As if by magic, the rain turns to snow,
Dark shadows race across the shining moon.

Somewhere a wolf calls out in the darkness
While snowflakes like dancers whirl in the breeze,
As if in pursuit of some far off spring.
