Ode to Books
Have you ever entered a room,
unknowing what awaits you?
Maybe it’s a mummy’s tomb,
or even Winnie the Pooh.
With the flick of your wrist
or the scroll of your figure,
no other world seizes to exist
but those within your eyes linger.
With phenomenal jackets
and an intriguing soul.
everything somewhat blankets
elegantly inside you like a cute foal.
From Agatha Christie to John Green,
from Sherlock Holmes to Superman,
authors and characters we’ve all know
devour us whole like a Toyota van.
Have you ever entered a room,
unknowing what awaits you?
Maybe it’s a mummy’s tomb,
or even Winnie the Pooh.
