She’s so much more than what she seems.

Braces and a bumpy nose are her best disguise.

She never shares what’s in her dreams.

Friends say they can help tighten her seams-

She knows it’s time to snip those constricting ties.

She’s so much more than what she seems.

Every day, she holds back frustrated screams

as she watches them fall into mascara’d demise.

She never shares what’s in her dreams.

She’s done with narcissistic, consumerist themes,

sees sizes and ads for what they are: lies.

She’s so much more than what she seems.

Adults box her in to their own schemes,

not seeing the vision simmering in her eyes.

She never shares what’s in her dreams.

She is done with what society deems

‘perfect’. She’s ready to be a surprise.

She’s so much more than what she seems.

She never shares what’s in her dreams.
