Spring
A ray of sunshine hits me in the face
Of the winter yesterday there is no trace
Slowly by slowly the snow has melted
The birds are singing; they have felt it
Flowers of red, yellow and violet bloom
And the honeybees promise to make honey soon
And the cardinals sing along to their tune
All the animals come out and declare
“Look outside folks, the day is fair!”
But the clouds shake their heads in despair
And retreat back to their cold, evil lair
Bidding their time until next year
To bring back their blizzards and fill the world with drear
But for the time being, the sky is clear
There will be no cold for a while here
For everyone knows they have nothing to fear
It’s a new season; spring is here
