Escaping Our Skins
All of us are trapped in our skins,
whether we know this or not.
Some can understand this concept just fine,
although for most it can be a weak spot.
Our skins are what weigh us;
they trap us in sins.
They make us uncomfortable,
as though covered in pins.
Those of us that are aware
try everything they can to escape.
Those of us that are not
skitter around in confusion and wait.
They wait for an answer
to this madness that has come.
They wait for an answer
but so far there is none.
There is nothing they can do,
but watch and wonder,
why all these good people,
seem to slip further and further.
Those of us that are aware
can escape from our skins;
but then again who's to say
that they are truly free from all sins?
