Heaven on Earth
(To the wonderful town of Canandaigua, New York)
The waves crash against the cement wall
Your feet feel refreshed when you step into the water
 It’s my heaven on Earth
My cousin’s screams can be heard clear across the lake
The laughing can be heard from the boat
Pulling the tube through the crystal clear water
 It’s my heaven on earth
The cool breeze hitting your face
With the smell of the grill coming from the other direction
The song “fruit salad, Yummy, yummy “ by the Wiggles
Constantly playing through your head, but
 It’s my heaven on Earth
 The nights when the aunts
Start cooking dinner at eight and we don’t eat
Till ten and do not leave the table till twelve
 It’s my heaven on Earth
The sound of the fireworks around the lake
The noise of wrapping paper being shredded our Christmas in July
 It’s my heaven on earth
 The nights of perfect sleep
The sound of the water soothes you
 It’s my heaven on Earth
The tears which are shed on the way to the Airport
 How long must I wait
 To come back to my
 Heaven on earth?
