Subtly the Same

Some subtle changes listen well,
though they all damn me straight to hell.
I grope for path, I grope for light
but status quo keeps me bound tight.

Subtle shadows dance until morn,
they hold me tight and keep me torn
between the choice of wrong and right,
as status quo still bounds me tight.

Subtle tears roll down pained faces
who know they can’t win the chases.
I figured that out one sad night,
and that status quo bounds one tight.

Subtle flames grow to be stronger,
and I can’t bear heat much longer,
so if it reaches me tonight
don’t let status quo bound you tight.

Subtle thoughts creep out and they show
They are conscious of what we know.
They cast their curses, we can't fight,
for status quo still bounds us tight.

This is a beautifully written and brutally honest poem. I loved it! Everytime I read something like "but status quo keeps me bound tight" I nodded my head in satisfaction. That was perfect! Keep up the great work! (:
