Faces: Iii | Teen Ink

Faces: Iii MAG

By Anonymous

I sit alone against the wall

of the bustling hall

People blur past me

rushing to the bus

rushing to practice

rushing away

One face stops and asks

"Are you okay?"

A simple question really

yet I cannot bear to look into that face

and continue this eternal pretense

so I don't respond

the face leaves

and I drown again

alone in a sea of people

I've had this exact experience myself and I never knew what to say. I like the way the poem stemmed from an experience most people don't do that so it was nice to see.
