Music
“With the music blasting, she feels she disappears”.
She closes her bedroom door, pulls out homework, and blasts her music,
Normally Elvis Presley or David Bowie.
When the music is on, she feels a sense of belonging,
As though she is one with the artist,
Like she is special.
When the music is off she feels disappointed that she is snapped back into reality,
With stress and responsibilities.
Music makes her mind dream but it can also make her eyes leak.
It makes her dream of fictional worlds or plays on reality.
Her music choice makes her feel cool,
Like adults will praise her for enjoying older music,
Purely from enjoying the sweet sounds of Bowie and Elvis.
She feels she doesn't belong in her generation,
she is old-styled,
Which makes her sad to be born in 2006.
