Summer Vacation

As you listen to the beach waves crashing against the land, 

“This is the place,” you think as you dig your feet into the sand.

The seagulls fly overhead, chirping at the top of their lungs, 

Oh, how fun it was to build sandcastles when I was young.

I get up to take a long walk to collect magnificent seashells,

Or to go buy a blue popsicle the stand sells.

I find shells of white, spots, pink, and many more,

I look up into the sky seeing pelicans soar. 

As I walked back to my spot with shells and a blue popsicle in hand, 

I sat back down to get a golden tan.

The struggles of life melted away in the hot sun, 

Summer vacation has officially begun
