Nothing will ever again
awaken me as slowly as the morning rush.
Jam-packed hallways, repetitive music lingering
in my eardrum.
Blankly staring at a frozen clock.
Vigorously note taking while my instructure
cramps in the last word.
Dramatic giggles fill the lunchroom with life
as well as the fragrance of grease from pizzas rolling past on
takeout carts.
Exhausted, yet following the rhythm of
my schedule, I painfully await departure.
Eagerly checking my notifications
“Here” - Dad
Going, going
Gone
