I Am but a Straw
I am but a straw.
The people who use me
Neither know nor care where it is
I come from.
They do not know of my adventures,
before and after their use.
For I am but a straw.
I am but a straw.
Born to the hands of melted plastic.
Twisted and formed.
Packaged and held in silence.
Months of stillness.
And then--
I am of use.
After my use? I am not a straw.
Why I, I am all but a straw.
I am trash, garbage,
and possible turtle food.
I am an inconvenience.
In the quick eyes of person,
I am all but a straw.
