Thief's Awakening
Once there was a young man who was named Albert. His parents were very wealthy but ever shared any of their money with him once he became an adult. Albert ended up having to fend for himself but he was weak, clumsy, grungy looking and not very intelligent which really had an effect on the jobs he would try to get. He tried getting a job as a lumberjack, a technician and a salesman but none of it worked, he had too many flaws.
There were so many problems Albert had to face but the worst was that there were times he even had to steal. Albert hated stealing but there were times he just had no choice but to do it. Normally Albert would steal from a general store but this time he couldn’t. It was late and he was starving, all the stores were closed, Albert had no choice but to take food from his parents. Albert was so worried that he’d get caught, he didn’t want to follow through with the heist but he needed to, if he didn’t he would starve to death
It took Albert about an hour to build up the courage to finally sneak into his parents house and find the vault because he knows he will go to jail if he gets caught, his father is a very powerful man. As Albert was sneaking through one of the many windows in his parent’s home he saw that the kitchen light was on, he was even more worried now because he knew one of them were awake. He hoped it was his mother because she actually cared a little bit for him, but if it wasn’t he’d be in the worst of trouble.
Albert hid behind a grandfather clock in the shadows to hide from whoever it was in the kitchen, he’d still get in trouble if it was his mother but it would be much less trouble than if it was his father. He saw a silhouette of a person but couldn’t tell if it was a male or a female. Albert decided to get closer, because it was pitch black in the room he was in and he had dark clothing on it was very difficult to see him. The person in the kitchen caught a glimpse of a moving shadow and moved to the dining room where Albert was to search, Albert was about to have a panic attack because the gender was still unknown.
The person turned on a light and it was revealed who it was. It was a police officer actually searching for Albert’s father because of a crime he committed. Albert tried to sneak away unseen but the officer caught him and began to question why he was in the the man’s house.
Albert was sweating like a dog at this point because he had zero idea what would happen to him if he told the officer the truth. He couldn’t lie to the officer because Albert always gave away that he was lying, it was the biggest flaw he had when it came to committing thievery. Albert said, without answering the cops question, “Well what are you doing here?,” the cop refused to answer without being answered so Albert had no choice but to tell the truth. “Well sir,” Albert explained, “I am Theodore’s son, Albert, and when I turned 18 years of age he through me onto the streets with no money and no way of getting a job. I usually did some sort of volunteer work and hope to get a tip of either cash or food. When I didn’t get enough money for food I’d resort to stealing because it would be the only way I could feed myself.” The officer replied stumbled, “Well, why can’t you get a job?”
“I would gladly get a job but I’m weak, clumsy, and not very smart. The thing I’m best at is being a nuisance.”
“You know, I respect that you gave me an honest answer, however I am a cop and I am required to arrest you for theft, breaking and entering, and trespassing after I finish arresting your father.” Albert knew what his punishment was and that he deserved it for his crimes, so he did as the officer told him and waited outside.
Albert heard a gunshot from inside and he knew it wasn’t the cop. From what he remembered, the cop only had a simple 8 shot pistol. The gunshot noise came from a shotgun which also cause him to remember that his father would always sleep with his gun right next to his bed. He had to do something or else his father would kill the policeman.
Albert rushed to the window that he originally snuck in through although it was much harder this time because his hands were bound by handcuffs. Once in the house Albert rushed to his father’s bedroom only to see the cop on the ground with a gunshot wound in his left arm and his father aiming his gun at the officer’s head.
Albert was so scared but was so encouraged, determined and had so much adrenaline from his fright that he charged at his father and with all his might knocked his father through a wall causing Theo to become unconscious with many fractures and broken bones. Albert helped the cop to his feet and got someone to call an ambulance.
After about a month the cop was fully recovered from the incident but still had some trouble when he put too much stress on his arm. The officer was so grateful of what Albert did for him that he offered to take him into his home and help him exercise and eat better to get stronger and in better shape. Within a year the officer, now revealed as ‘Michael’ offered Albert a college placement to join the police force and to rid of his criminal record.
Albert was thrilled to finally have a place in his life and after about four years he finished school and became a full time policeman, his partner was Mike. Albert was so happy the way his life turned out that he didn’t even care that his father left him on his own in the streets, in fact he was kind of thankful because if Theo didn’t kick out Albert it would’ve never caused him to learn kindness and respect. Albert also would’ve never snuck into his father’s house and wouldn’t of met Michael which would’ve meant Albert would’ve stayed weak, unintelligent and clumsy and wouldn’t of became a cop.
Albert’s life turned out for the better because he had respect and loyalty and he knew that would get him far in life.
