Here Lies Nice
Oh, Your friend wants to know your opinion about the movie he just forced you to watch? Oh, you need to describe yourself to try and win over a job interview? Oh, your coworker just mentioned something he did over the weekend and you really don’t care but you need to say something so you don’t sound rude? WELL HOW DO YOU THINK I FEEL?!
“How did you like the movie?”
“It was nice.”
“How is she a hero?”
“She’s nice.”
“I went camping over the weekend.”
“That’s nice.”
Because of people like you, I’ve lost my spark! I’m a grey word! No oomph, no power, no pizzazz! I used to have meaning, but you soiled it! SOILED. IT. Until you use your brain to come up with a more descriptive word, I’m out.
