Coffee House

The coffee grinder drowns out whispered conversations, though I don't mind. The smell eminating from that overwhelmed machine envelops me in a feeling of serene safety. Choosing a chair proves to be the most difficult task. We must find a pair next to eachother, comfy but stylish. I grab her hand and lead her closer to the fireplace. I enjoy being seated close enough to feel the warmth of the dancing embers and the texture of the art with my eyes. In this humble shelter, inspiration flows as often as the creamer. And the music. If there is a genre for 'coffee shop music", I think I have discovered the perfect playlist. I slowly take a sip, cautious not to burn my tongue though not having a care that I have been pierced by delicious pain. I find that fully immersing myself in every work of art, every haunting music note, every tattered rug, every walk of life, every coffee bean, is the best way to discover myself in this hidden heaven.

Ellie's Fairgrounds inspired me to compose this piece. Places like Ellie's is one of the reasons I feel at home on this Earth.
