"A sharm-tastic Idea
“Come on class, time to aboard the zipline!” the teacher yelled as the students got on and were off to their field trip on the far east side of the forest.
“Yo Mane!” yelled Sharms the T-Rex.
“What do you want Sharms?” replied Mane the lion.
“ This hike is going to be sick!”
Mane didn’t answer back and the zipline arrived at the destination and all you could see were the luscious green tree tops and the bright blue sky overhead.
“Ok everybody get into your groups and start your hike on the trail,” Owl the teacher told the class.
Sharms, Tweety and Mane all got into a group and started up the trail. Sharms always being a troublemaker wanted to take a left where they were not supposed to. He convinced the group to make the left turn.
“ I don’t know about this,” Tweety said with fear in her voice.
Down the path were dirty yellow trees and animals that looked vicious. The ground looked dirty and it smelled like rotten human flesh and feces. Mane and Tweety were very scared but Sharms looked like he had done this before and looked at the animals like they were wimps. They made the turn and started down the wrong path. A few minutes later they heard a loud screech.
"Owwwwww!" Tweety yelled in excruciating pain.
"Oh no!" Sharms yelled.
“I told you Sharms!” yelled Mane.
“I’m sorry I didn’t know this would happen,” he replied with sadness in his voice.
Sharms helped Tweety up and brought him towards a log to sit on. She was in a lot of pain as tears came to her eyes and dripped down her cheeks.
“Now that I helped Tweety I’ll probably be praised by the ladies and look like a hero!” Sharms said boastfully.
“You know Sharms doing good things is not just about getting recognized, you should do good things because it is the right thing to do,” Mane told Sharms.
“You’re right Mane and helping Tweety made me feel like a good animal!” Sharms told Mane.
Sharms, Mane and Tweety heard a loud hoot, signaling that it was time to return to the teacher.
“That’s right Sharms, alright guys let’s get back to the group,” Mane stated.
“Is everybody ok?” the teacher asked, Tweety your leg looks bad”.
“I’m just fine don’t worry!” Tweety added, “because I have the best friends anyone could have”.
Sharms knew what he did and also knew he wouldn’t do it again. He realized that doing a good thing made him feel good and he didn’t need to be recognized and praised for his good doing.
Moral: Don't just do good things to get noticed, do them because they're the right thing to do.

I was inspired to write this because in sixth grade I got an award for citizenship but I realized I didn't need to be recognized for doing good things.
