As Erin was growing up his father wasn’t around much. He was always going to different cities and countries for work. Erin’s mother was very ill so his grandparents lived with them to take care of his him and his mother. He was only 6 when his mom passed away.. After her death Erin’s father, Steve was home even less often than usual. He was gone weeks at a time and sometimes even for a whole month without even contacting his family. A few years pass and Erin started wondering why his dad was always gone. Every time he asked, he’d give him the same answer; “You’ll understand when you get older, son.” Erin hated hearing his father say that. He couldn’t wait to grow up and finally understand.

Years and years pass of Erin patiently waiting for his father’s explanation. On May sixth of 2004, Erin’s whole life changed. What his father told him left Erin with high responsibilities and a new perspective on life. It was what he’s been waiting for his whole life, and he finally understands. Erin Meagher’s father was a secret spy. Not just a normal spy though, he was the best, most coordinated and sneaky spy there was. He was ranked the highest out of thousands of people.

As Erin’s father got older he couldn’t do all the crazy missions he did before. Someone needed to take over and continue the family legacy. Since Erin was an only child it had to be him. Erin was only 18 when he received this exciting yet overwhelming news, and he didn’t quite understand it all. His father said he was going to wait to tell him when Erin was in his mid-20’s but something came up that would have to speed up the training process.

Erin’s father trained him for three consecutive years, day after day. Erin had no time for college nor did he need it. On the last year of training, Erin’s father told him that he’d no longer be the one training him. What Erin didn’t know was that the only person he’s ever loved was diagnosed with cancer five years earlier. Erin’s father never told him about the cancer, all he said was: “I’ll be leaving today and you won’t be seeing me for hopefully many years. I have a new trainer ready for you tomorrow who I know you’ll get along with.” He left before Erin could ask questions, but he learned to never question his father’s decisions because they were always the right ones. Erin hasn’t seen him after and will never know where or why he left.

Erin Meagher currently lives in Amery Wisconsin along with his wife Lanni Meagher. They have four kids together and three of those four are graduated from high school and are in college. Their other kid is a sophomore at Amery High School. No one in their family actually knows what Erin does for a living, not even his own wife. He claims to only work for 3M. Only one person in his family will ever know what he really is.. That person is his only son, Garrett, who will be continuing in his father’s footsteps.
