Teenage tears- the poem
She stares at the bus stop,
school bag in her hand,
no one would guess
she wants it all to end.
She looks at me
and her eyes are so sad,
then her face changes
and she seems kind of dead.
So many bracelets
cover her wrists,
she knows that I noticed
and makes a ball of her fist.
She lights her cigarette,
inhales the smoke
but I know it won't fix her,
we all watched as she broke.
"You smoke, 'cuz you like it,"
she says, "I smoke to die."
There's something in her voice,
seems like a silent cry.
No one can save her
and she knows it deep,
"Please don't let me wake up,"
she prays everynight as she goes to sleep.
She is so pretty
but she is depressed,
I wish I could fix her,
give her some rest.
A rest from her mind,
a dark, lonely place,
she finally breaks,
tears over her face.
