Laughing like a crazy person, Schnauzer is joking with her friends, Iron, Wheelbarrow, Shoe, and Boat at GO. However, Thimble and Hat, an unlikely set of friends, were resting in the corners of the square, listening to the group talking about the Boardwalk coming up soon around the board. Lonely, Hat took a look around. A square place, occasionally some color, every once in a while a house, a Jail in the corner, and a Free Parking in the other corner. The paper is shuffling, plastic smacking each other, giants getting comfortable, a game approaching.

BOOM, BOOM

The dice hit the board, double 6’s. Landing with a soft thud, Hat is moved, everybody but Thimble was still chatting away. Nobody said bye, nobody really even noticed she was gone.

Sad, Hat kept moving through the game, her player is going broke. Same with Thimble, almost out of money, only owns one place with one hotel, in which nobody lands on.

Iron exclaims in a snotty way, “Hah, Hat and Thimble are almost out, great for us!”

Suddenly, Thimble’s player can afford a place. This place has a reasonable rent, 38 dollars. Every time Schnauzer came around the board, she just happened to land on that place, and have to pay Thimble rent. It was the end of the world for her.

Hat’s player is now going broke, which starts to concern her. When it was Hat’s move, her player was able to buy a place, similar to Thimble. It has a similar pay. Both Hat and Thimble were able to stay in the game.

Shaking her head defiantly, Thimble’s player was going broke once again. She didn’t have a shoulder to cry on, so she cried on her own.

Hat felt depressed for Thimble, she scurried over to Schnauzer and asked for a 500 dollar bill. Schnauzer declined. She asked Schnauzer many more times, hoping for a different answer, still no luck. Down to the last straw, Hat found a 500 dollar bill in her stack of fives. Picking up the money, Hat was determined to keep Thimble in the game. She took the money and put it in Thimble’s player’s pile. Thimble didn’t notice.

Hat whispered, “You’ve got some extra money,” to Thimble.

Thimble was ecstatic, she has hope that she might finally win.

After the game was over, Iron, Wheelbarrow, Boat, and Shoe were all talking about Hat’s courageous move. Thimble, did win the game, and plenty of respect from her peers. Hat was delighted; she brought everyone together as well as helping her friend through tough times. Everyone supported each other, and helped each other out.

Schnauzer exclaimed, “I’m glad I am in this game with you guys!”
