Rebirth
Melting snow reveals tufts of brightest green.
  Another color is visible too,
A companion in purple can also be seen.
The earth awakens with plenty to do.
Disappearing clouds boast a blue so bright,
The songs of the birds puts my soul at ease,
The smell of growth brings my senses alight
I wonder if my hopes are but a tease?
Foreboding thoughts come from way down deep
The memories of winter, not long gone,
I struggle to perceive spring- as I weep,
But my fears quell with the arriving dawn.
The light shines bright coming forth from the sun,
I jump for joy the season has begun.
