Flowers are different inside and out
Not just in appearance, internal and not
But each has its own meaning found throughout
These meanings cannot, nor ever will be bought

Violets show modesty with purple hue
Gladiolas can make you feel of gloom
Daisies and daffodils are cheerful too
Red roses are known to show love so true

Your birth month’s flower can show parts of your
Personality that you didn’t know
Since it can be true, or can be ignored
Twelfth month’s formality goes right out the door

Flowers represent people of all kinds;
Keep the one that represents you in mind

The author's comments:
I've grown up around flowers, and I thought that a good topic for a sonnet would be the symbolic meanings of several different flowers.
