"A Man of Faith"

The war begins to devour;
My mind, my thoughts, my soul;
As it threatens to kill me every hour;
My body begins taking its toll;
Only a leather-bound book serves as a barrier;
But with Him I know I can prevail;
Because I have faced far scarier;
Even in the midst of Hell;
Today is not the day;
For me to give in;
I swore I would not be filleted;
As the war rages within.
