When I contemplate how my mind is bent,
and none but fellow outcasts understand,
A downward glance betrays my malcontent
As logos and lingo lure my fellowman.
Unwilling to reveal my inner-self, and join the circus of complacency,
with tender care I climb back on the shelf and wonder if there is a place for me.
Unwilling to reveal my inner self, to those who like to bully and condemn,
in silence I clamber back on my shelf and seek a place that us less grim.
As I observe the plight of humankind, my wretched longings make me hesitate,
and I confront the old sinews that bind Then look around for those who share my fate.
I hear their kindred spirits beat their drum, and know the music is for me, so come.
