New York Rain
New York streets are quite a sight
 Beneath the street light's glow
But the pain and misery here
 Is what you'll never know

You come here for the luxury
 To see the endless lights
But beneath the realms of beauty
 Chaos slowly fights

 The colors will enchant you
 You'll never want to leave
 But there's evil that hides
 Up this city's sleeve

 I've been a broken victim
 Of this city's games
And once New York is through with you
 You can't hide the shame

You come here for the prices
While I'm begging for your dime
I used to be just like you
But the memory is lost in time

 Beneath the silent beauty
 There's a deathly pain
You think these clouds are never gray
 Just wait until it rains.
