Life Brings...
She just got fired from her job
The night is silent and breezy
Working two shifts morning till late
No can say it’s been easy

 Mom and Dad gone
 Long time ago
 No place to turn to
 No place to go

 Her husband’s getting restless
 He keeps getting sacked
He wants to walk out through the door
And never have to look back

Two kids, too young to understand
The trouble they cause for her
She tries her best to keep them happy
But for how much longer she can, she isn’t sure

Car broken down and in the shop
Tires flat and needing gas refill
But along with the house rent and the food
She can’t afford to pay the bill

But as she goes home that night
She passes by a couple kissing under a tree
She wishes she could start anew
And wonders why it can never be

She wants to throw in the towel
She wants to leave it all behind
But she can’t even gather the will or strength
To give her a restful mind

There’s always some problem to solve
With the kids, her husband, and more
She comes home to no warm greeting
 Her heart heavy and worn

 She looks outside her window
 And sees a little tree
No taller than her youngest child
 Merely a growing seed

 She realizes then that life
Is a precious gift as always
And new hope ignited in her heart
 She kneels down to pray

 Thank you, God, she says
For the miracle of life and birth
Thank you, for green grass and trees
And all the beings on earth

 Thank you, God, she says
 For simple lessons learned
 Patience, and kindness to strangers
For what we receive when we earn

 Thank you, God, she says
For the sun shining down on me
For the bright moon lighting my way
 For faith and my family

 Thank you, God, she says
For the choices we can make
To take the good with the bad
Or not dwell on any mistake

And thank you, God, she prays
 For all you’ve given me
 I didn’t realize it before
 But I’m blessed eternally

With that she stood up tall
And decided right then to say:
Thank you, God, I love you
She got ready to face another day

 For there would be sorrows
 And miserable things
 But she would also focus
 On the miracles life brings
