Roses and Dreams
A boy drops to his knees and disposes
Prayers of hope, desire, and goodbyes
On his mother’s grave, and withered roses -
Petals falling; a tear escapes his eyes.
Twas’ two days ago, he won in checkers;
They picked tulips and sang in the sunset.
Happy moments of his life, but wreckers
Lead to mom’s demise; he feels regret
Dreary thoughts shatter his heart with a twang.
So he swears to enjoy his life in bliss -
No matter the event he will stay strong
For his mom that broke down, he’ll reminisce.
Tis’ a wish, his hope; a promise to love
Himself, family, and fly like a dove
