Yellow air stiffened with sun.

Paintings of a barn and flies who play-

children as they scream for fun.

A suburban summer’s day.

Drywall and old wooden floors,

filled with the smell of a Pennsylvanian.

My mother swamped in all her chores.

Things will stay the way they’ve always been.

Backpacks thrown upon the spirited grass

coupled with neighborhood parties, served with cake.

Children as they run to class.

Riding slides after daybreak.

The more I long for passed days

the more they fade into a haze.

You described this so well that it felt like I was there!! Your words are perfect, and I really like the topic of longing for your childhood!
