"Consider your origin, you were not made to live like brutes but to follow virtue and knowledge." - The Divine Comedy

Pondering shadows therewithin, a little crevice bleak and dreadful;

Eyes are weary, thoughts unclear, tis here I stay forevermore;

Here I stay with book and quill and think as if I'm not forgotten;

Not forgotten, still, my Love, tis what I think forevermore;

This book and quill, yet time stands still, and still my Love forevermore;

I love my Love and nothing more.

Pondering shadows therewithin, a neverending war-shook heart;

It who fears those uttered words, which gore and shatter as before;

Through this fragile, glass carved heart, this parasite here lives and dines;

Not forgotten uttered words, live in my heart forevermore;

Not forgotten, still, my Love, tis in my heart forevermore;

show love towards Love and nothing more.

Pondering Light from here within, oh come my hope, my joy don't flee;

Tis I the boy whom once cared free, and wish to be as like before;

Book and quill have always drained me, yet I long forevermore;

Love! I yet can hear your beating heart, which once in me, yet nevermore;

Nevermore I hear your heart, and yet I need you like before;

Love my dear, please come once more.

The author's comments:

I have been writing poetry for five years now. This poem is inspired by Edgar Allen Poe's style and can be translated into multiple different ways. I wrote it this way so the person knows poetry if for them to interpret, not to be told how it is to be.
