There was love
Put me on your fishing hook
Read me like an open book
Pierce my skin; kiss my lips
And wipe away all that drips
With barbed steel buried in me
You have seen all you will see
Close my eyes; throw me far
  Wish upon another star
With all my pages ripped out
All I want to do is shout
Twist my lungs; break my spine
  Scatter me along those lines
  Relay the lesson you took
Keep them crammed in every nook
You knew they were all mine
  Hidden away, they were fine
Now you have all your reasons
Watch as the change of seasons
  Eroding me, gushing down
To the land were pain is sound
Were there is pain, there was love
You were what I was proud of
Take my heart; take it all
Nail it on your golden wall
I’ll try to hate the memory
Forget what you meant to me
Fill my hole with new friends
But your voice it never ends
