We had the American dream
We had everything
You ripped it at the seams
We had everything
Things just aren’t right, now
You’re gone, now
I just don’t know, now
You’re gone now
I’m stranded here alone
We had everything
This house is not a home
We had everything
My life came crashing down
You’re gone now
You left without a sound
You’re gone now
I’m sore, I’m aching
We had everything
Hearts are meant for breaking
We had everything
Family isn’t important to you
You’re gone now
Sorry, we’re an inconvenience
You’re gone now
You could’ve told us
We had everything
Except trust
We had nothing

As I read it I sang it in my head (I’m a music nerd as well as a poetry addict) and this will make an AMAZING song!

“The apple doesn't fall far from the tree." I guess that means we're just products of whoever made us and we don't have much control. The thing is, when people use that phrase, they ignore the most critical part: the falling. Within the logic of that saying, the apple falls every single time. Not falling isn't an option. So, if the apple has to fall, the most important question in my mind is what happens to it upon hitting the ground? Does it touch down with barely a scratch? Or does it smash on impact? Two vastly different fates. When you think about it, who cares about its proximity to the tree or what type of tree spawned it? What really makes all the difference, then, is how we land.”
― Val Emmich, Dear Evan Hansen

This was amazing work, Truly fantastic. Im curious if you'd mind if I created a song out of it and got it to you somehow, as I feel like it would make a good remembrance to him. Let me know and please keep writing, - TheRareBreed

Bro. You did so good. I can relate to this but with my birth mom. So yeah. Great Job. Keep up the great work.

This is sort of how I feel, too. My father has never shown that he cares for his family and sometimes I just wish I had a real dad. Great work, it's very emotional!
