'The really important people in life have a way of coming back to you'
'Good enough isn't good enough'
'You don't have to be sick to get better'
'Come what may and love it'

What do you do
When your fall-back plan falls apart
What can I do
When the person I trusted most broke my heart
And who's shoulder can I lean on
Now that I'm abandoned
How do I come down from flying high
With no safe landing?

Why do I do this to myself
Again and again
Going through hell
Again and again

How dumb I must be to have trusted you
How foolish I was to love you
Because you were young and
Lived without caution
And I was all too willing
To fall in
Now I'm trapped in despair
While you move on, no care
Of the calamity
You made of me
You're the author of my tragedy

What do you do
When the best thing is to walk away
But all you want and need
Is so desperately to stay
Who is left to love me
Now that I'm abandoned
I'll just pretend that
Nothing ever happened

Why do I do this to myself
Again and again
Going through hell
Again and again

How dumb I must be to have trusted you
How foolish I was to love you
Because you were young and
Lived without caution
And I was all too willing
To fall in
Now I'm trapped in despair
While you move on, no care
Of the calamity
You made of me
You're the author of my tragedy

Let's just erase all my memories
Before he was my enemy

How dumb I must be to have trusted you
How foolish I was to love you
Because you were young and
Lived without caution
And I was all too willing
To fall in
Now I'm trapped in despair
While you move on, no care
Of the calamity
You made of me
You're the author of my tragedy

This will be your best story yet
Running off into the sunset
With my best friend
While I'm left in the dust
Cause I wasn't good enough
THE END

I have to disagree with Casey, sadly. I wish the organization had been slightly better, i.e. better rhyme scheme, meter, and perhaps shorter lines. Other than that, this is wonderful. I think you really have a talent for lyrics.

I really really love your rhyme scheme and organization. Very beautiful, meaningful poem overall.

I love writing. I love the swirl and swing of words as they tangle with human emotions. - James Michener

This is beautiful. I love the last line of the chorus, the title suits it perfectly. Great job!

I like your free style of writing. The questions and the literary devices you employed in your poem make the poem really relatable and readable. Good job!
