To be honest I thought I might never admit
That you were a drug to me
That when I was with you
Love was beyond me
Unable to be understood.
That you created a madness
That consumed me.
And honestly?
You have never truly known me.
If you had
You would have realized
That your undeserved punishments
And constant cruelty
Would eventually be the thing
That grew my backbone
And made me strong enough
To turn around
And walk away
