Ruins and Walls of Past Affairs
See the ghosts of our past love,
the crumbling walls of this house that I built us,
 nothing left to fix this.

Trying to build sandcastles in the pouring rain,
no luck left at all when you smashed me again,
nothing worth trying to help us past this,
you can only turn your cheek away
 from so much screaming pain.

Tired of rebuilding in a house you keep tearing down.
I'll never finish this to what I wanted,
this masterpiece of love and loss.

Trying to build sandcastles in the pouring rain,
no luck left at all when you smashed me again,
nothing worth trying to help us past this,
you can only turn your cheek away
 from so much screaming pain.

Accept it, our ruin of a castle,
barely fixable because of scattered pieces,
left high and dry on a deserted island,
surrounded by bare dead coral waiting to
 shipwreck the next love affair.

Trying to build sandcastles in the pouring rain,
no luck left at all when you smashed me again,
nothing worth trying to help us past this,
you can only turn your cheek away
 from so much screaming pain.

Nothing more than an old brown photograph,
reminants of a memory too elaborate to forget,
ruins and walls of past affairs,
too damaged and fallen in too deep a disrepair....
