Sixteen

Couple years ago, I fell like an autumn leaf

I remember it so well like a vivid dream

That was three years back when I was still a kid

Thirteen years of age, figuring where I belonged

Now as I look back on the journey I took for so long

I can't stop thanking myself for leaving you like a bad habit

Cause though I'm only sixteen I've already lived through hell

And I know that the lessons I've learnt will benefit me well

Steel like heart, vigilant mind and I'm a new person that I like

I am new and improved and I'm so glad to be in the light

My past no longer defines who I'll be in my life

I will run and I will climb for I now know what I want

Now back to the present as I'm writing these lines

So much that I've wanted has fallen to my arms

And I'm glad and prepared for whatever comes next

It's the last days of school and I already know

You'll tell me all those lies just to bind me by your side

But it was fun but it's time that I fly away far from time

And here I stand again in the middle of it all

Trying my best to let go of the things I already know

You were hell and my plan but now I have got to let you go

Maybe in the next lifetime I'll stay by your side

We'll fall back in love like we did in the past life

But for now it's my right that I leave you at the lines

Cause though I'm only sixteen I've already lived through hell

And I know that the lessons I've learnt will benefit me well

Steel like heart, vigilant mind and I'm a new person that I like

I am new and improved and I'm so glad to be in the light

My past no longer defines who I'll be in my life

I will run and I will climb for I now know what I want

Wow this is beautifully written!! “Maybe in the next lifetime I'll stay by your side/We'll fall back in love like we did in the past life/But for now it's my right that I leave you at the lines” are my favorite lyrics. So powerful and raw!! Nice job!!
