Crystal clear teardrops hang off the edges of roofs
As they descend onto the ground they’re downtrodden by hooves
Veins bulge as frozen leaves pulse with effort
The feeling in their stems has been severed
Intricate snowflakes dance in the air
Prancing and pirouetting without a care
They sparkle and shimmer
As a breath of fresh air makes them quiver
Inside people’s houses is a different story
The dog recalls achievements of former glory
Children scamper energetically through the house
As the dog plays with the toy mouse
