Stripes contort down thin
Thin legs, covered with flimsy,
Thin fabric which is.

See through patterns lie
Beneath the painted desk top
Words inscribed in wood.

For all the world to
Peer at underneath the thin
Layer of colour.

It’s a thin, thin world,
Stretching round the sharp corners
Of reality.


The author's comments:
I just really felt as though something repetitive, but different, could be interesting. And so I wrote a series of haiku with the word thin setting the recurring connection/theme/tone.
