The Purple Blossom

A purple flower
Sits on a white windowsill.
Lone, but beautiful.
A vibrant purple,
Upon a stunning green stalk
In a silver pot.
The burst of color
In the white hospital room
Brings joy to the girl.
She is alone.
Unable to play outside
On a sunny day.
A friend sent the bloom
One day, during a visit.
The one friend to come.
But when the friend left,
The flower stayed beautiful.
Lone, but beautiful.
