Some Words I Tell Myself

i swallow my fears
while all my tears lay drying.
"it will be okay."
when my hand trembles
i tend to breathe deep, and say:
"you can overcome."
as i shake and sigh,
leaping beyond high boulders
"it will be worth it."
if the whole world falls
i think i'll just keep saying
what empowers me
words become my truth
but when they don't, i'll endure
through mere persistence
