Bedroom Window
Just after sunset,
a raindrop flies through the sky
the way a dolphin flies through water.
It falls
faster,
faster,
but its journey is far from over.
It competes with others
in the sky,
the crying sky
until there is nothing left
to fight.
For as soon as the rain began,
it ended
leaving a lone survivor.
But it didn’t last long,
for the raindrop fell
against my bedroom window.

This piece is about the journey a raindrop will undergo as it falls from the sky, and how its journey will ultimately come to an end as it falls against my bedroom window.
