Waiting to Be Hurt
C'mon hit me again
Go on and do it again
'Bout time anyway, it's been so long since I've taken a beating
Hurry up there are so many other things I could be doing
Go ahead and hit my face
You know you've wanted to since I was born, you're filled up with hate
My arms are stretched wide, this is becoming routine
C'mon I want the bruises you leave to be seen
Why are you taking so long, is this build-up really so necessary?
I'm familiar with pain, this isn't so painful, actually
Stare at me with violence in your eyes
Just leave me here on the floor, you know that I never cry
I know the rhythm by now, you hit me once, then twice
And then a kick to my ribs, this is your favorite vice
I'm watching the clock, I could be reading a book
But instead you're beating me bloody, my happiness is what you took
Ugh I'm waiting please just hit me already
This is different, you're lowering your fists
A confused look, you let go of my wrist
Then you hug me and tell me you're sorry
Sorry, it's not that simple
Just leave me alone, Dad
You're not sorry
You'll just beat me again tomorrow
