Between Heaven & Disaster
We stand between heaven and disaster.
We stand in heaven when we laugh until tears threaten to roll down our face. We stand in heaven when our hands intertwine and our souls somehow connect. We stand in heaven when the only thing that feels safe is your heartbeat and arms.
We stand in disaster when things are thrown against the wall and sober thoughts become drunken words. We stand in disaster when your eyes turn to the fire you ignite inside me. We stand in disaster when the only thing that’s keeping us together is the lust.
We stand in the midst of the angels and demons.
We stand in the midst of the angels when the sound of your laughter makes me radiate with love. We stand in the midst of the angels when the only ocean I desire to get lost in is your eyes. We stand in the midst of the angels when my whole body fills with the butterflies you bring me.
We stand in the midst of the demons when the only time you love me is when you’ve had countless bottles of toxic. We stand in the midst of the demons when the blood on your hands suddenly becomes mine. We stand in the midst of the demons when your lies become so believable, I drown in them. We stand in the midst of the demons when you’re the one who tells me to stay.
