Act of Virtue
Maintaining innocence is like keeping a plant alive
It cries for attention
But has outside forces drowning out the sound
With screams that screech in your ears like the tires of a speeding car
A beaming diamond fresh from Earth
The sweet vanilla ice cream melting on your tongue
The strong boulder waiting to withstand all enemies
But also the soft cotton candy brushing against your lips
Innocence is the prettiest white daffodil in the garden
A long green stem with 8 pearly white petals spread around a bright yellow center
Amusing, beaming, and captivating as it sits
Patient and obedient not to be tampered with
No match for pure pressure that claims pleasure
Just because they do it doesn’t mean you should too
One wave of that and our drop of innocence falls flat
Splat
