To be with the clouds
Darkness is falling on the window.
And all that it previously held,
a mirror that showed promise
now disappeared;
Blurry images of busy men and women
and expressionless faces, and of lines
and black,and white
and staring at screens
The reckless behaviour ;everything
spontaneous and instinctive,
Everything creative and hand-made,
all gone by the advent of technology
Unlike the people of the sky, the clouds.
People without a care in the world
Moving about as free as can be; dancing
and swaying in the wind.
The sun shines brighter than ever, and waits
In the sky like a bright burning ball of hope.
Just look up from your screens.
Look and look for the hope.
It’s there.
Hidden in the clouds, look closely.
Even in the darkest of nights, lies
a single star.
Leave behind these material things and
join the clouds. Join us and together,
we can reach the sky.
Then a sliver of light pierced through
onto a single paper, another
on the words that sat there. And maybe,
just maybe, there might be hope after all.
