The Bloom
The 30s, 40s, and 50s have all passed,
Quite unfortunate, even though I knew it wouldn’t last.
It is quite solitary living in my home,
My entire family has left me, gone to roam.
The joints of my body aren’t very sturdy,
I undeniably long for my body when it was thirty.
But being old isn’t all that bad,
In fact, it’s something that doesn’t make me sad.
I now know who I have truly become,
And I’ll always remember where I came from.
I’m delighted that I’m more knowledgeable than many,
But that’s only because I’ve experienced plenty.
I can wake up or go to sleep when I please,
There is so much free time that I can seize.
Aging isn’t as awful as everyone is so quick to assume,
It’s when a magnificent life just starts to bloom.
